Authority Figures

Capitol first-graders have been studying authority figures in Social Studies. They learned that authority figures can help us in society to keep everyone safe, protect our rights, and help us be productive citizens. Mrs. Brennan Favor mentioned to the classes that adults have authority figures too, so this is a lifelong lesson of importance. Officers Foley and Rincones visited Capitol to visit with first-grade students on being an officer of the law, respecting them as authority figures, & being obedient to avoid chaos. These first-graders were very excited to learn about being a policeman and had many questions about how to obtain the training! Wow, thank Capitol first-grade teachers for expecting excellence from your students now and in the future!
