Learning from Charlie Brown

Capitol students got a chance to learn a few important lessons from Charlie Brown and his friends while in Counselor Barbara Utley's class. Students listened to the book and did a lesson with Mrs. Utley on the things that are important to each one of us during the holiday season. Students got to write down what Christmas means to them on a light to "shine" for others to see on their community bulletin board. Here are just a few of the lessons students discovered after listening to the story of Charlie Brown Christmas by Charles Schulz: loving others, helping others, being persistent when you believe in something, turning something good out of something bad, dealing with different friendships, seeing the good in people, and small things can create happiness. These are all great lessons to live by! Thank you, Mrs. Utley, for your great lessons that make us better people!
