Breathing Excercises!

Capitol Counselor Barbara Utley shares that she just completed a Breathing in the Spring unit with students. First graders experienced the book, The Very Impatient Caterpillar to learn the importance of being patient and waiting your turn. They learned how to "butterfly breathe" to help them when they feel anxious. Second graders enjoyed the book Bee Still to focus on meditation & improve concentration & reduce impulsivity. These breathing exercises can be done anytime anywhere to help a kid get through the day. Thank you, Mrs. Utley, for helping kids learn to deal with stress!
