Orff Instruments!

Capitol students and staff are so appreciative of First Baptist Church in Morton for donating these amazing Orff instruments! The instruments were a gift to the church from Christene Polvado, the church pianist, and school music teacher for many years. After Mrs. Polvado passed away, the instruments sat unused. Mrs. Tobie Gattis, a member of the church and teacher at Capitol, suggested they be donated to the Capitol Elementary music program. She believed they would be put to great use by our outstanding music teacher, Susan Draper, and she was right! Miss Draper uses them regularly in class and can’t wait to learn more ways to use them at a 2-week music conference she will attend this summer. Capitol sends out a huge "thank you" to First Baptist Morton and Mrs. Gattis for her generosity and Miss Draper for her commitment to music education for Capitol students!
