Capitol Elementary

Levelland Chamber of Commerce: Keep Levelland Beautiful and Xcel Energy visited Capitol Elementary third graders today for a “Lights Out Lunch” Initiative! Xcel Energy gave each third grader a flashlight before turning out the lights for lunch. Students learned simple ways to save energy, like turning off lights, unplugging devices when they’re not in use, and using LED bulbs to help reduce energy costs and save money. The lesson wrapped up with a special visit from Xcel Energy electricians, who taught about the dangers and consequences of electricity. Xcel also gave each student and the Capitol teachers a box of LED lightbulbs to take home! A big thank you to Xcel Energy and Keep Levelland Beautiful for hosting this fun and educational event! Video
