LIFE Helps Buy Book Vending Machine

It was a wonderful Wednesday for Capitol Elementary students and for our librarian, Mrs. Pam Alexander! Today, our beloved LIFE Foundation awarded the Capitol Library a grant to help purchase a Book Vending Machine! Mrs. Alexander first learned about book vending machines at library convention and knew that bringing one to Capitol would require securing a grant or two! That dream became a reality today when the LIFE Foundation generously donated $1,375 toward the purchase. An anonymous donor then contributed the remaining funds needed for both the machine and the books. Capitol Elementary is thrilled about this exciting new resource, which can be used for a variety of student incentives throughout the school. LISD is so proud that our campus librarians are always looking for ways to promote reading! The class visiting the library at the time of the announcement was especially excited to hear the news! Be sure to keep watching this semester for photos of the Capitol Book Vending Machine in action! We send out another huge "Thank You" to LIFE for making learning more fun for all of our students! You make our dreams come true!
