The Wind & The Willows

Our Capitol Elementary third graders recently read The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame, a beloved children’s classic first published in 1908. At its heart, the story explores friendship, home, and the balance between adventure and comfort. Today, our students experienced the story in a whole new way with a live performance at The Wallace Theater. Because the kids already knew the strong bond between Mole, Rat, Badger, and Toad, seeing the characters come to life on stage was truly magical. We extend our sincere thanks to The Wallace and Alycyn Keeling for creating such an engaging and meaningful experience for our learners. The Wallace continues to partner with LISD schools, reinforcing the same timeless themes found in The Wind in the Willows: loyalty to your community, a sense of belonging, the rhythm of life, responsibility to others, and the joy of finding pleasure in everyday moments. We are grateful to The Wallace for another wonderful and enriching experience for our students!
