Capitol proudly congratulates 4th grader Michael Lawson, the winner of the 2026 Capitol Spelling Bee! Michael correctly spelled “cosmetics” to win the competition, beating 38 other spellers in an exciting event that lasted five rounds. We also recognize our Runner-Up, Elias Perez, and Alternate, Aiden Gomez, for their outstanding performances. All three students will represent Capitol at the District Spelling Bee on Monday, and we wish them the very best of luck! A big thank-you to Mrs. Alexander and all the parents who helped students prepare and become strong spellers. We also appreciate Assistant Principals Katie Peña and Amy Pebsworth for judging this intense competition. Great job, spellers!
