Future Chefs

Each year, our Sodexo Food Service team encourages LISD elementary students to learn more about nutrition, healthy food choices, and cooking techniques by participating in a fun cooking competition. This year, many Capitol students submitted their Healthy Meal recipes to the competition. After careful review, three finalists were selected: Clara Campbell, Zaden Segura, and Lea Neveah. These students had the opportunity to prepare their meals for a panel of judges. All of the meals were delicious, but Lea Neveah won the competition with her Chicken Salad recipe, impressive presentation, and great interview skills. We thank Sodexo for hosting this event, which helps students develop important skills, including writing, reading, math, logic, food science, and speaking. Everyone had a great time at the event!
