Capitol GT Presentations

Capitol GT students presented their semester projects to parents and friends last week. 2nd grade GT researched historical places in Texas to solve the "Mystery of the missing Lone Star." Students learned about Caddo Lake, Galveston Beach, the State Capitol. They also learned about pirates Jean and Pierre Lafitte and Spanish conquistador Cabeza De Vaca. They used this information to solve the mystery. After solving the mystery, they then had to extend the story and add what would happen next if the story continued. They enjoyed presenting their presentations.
3rd grade GT students studied news production and all that is involved in creating a broadcast. They went on a field trip to KLBK/KMAC in Lubbock. They researched different careers in broadcasting and production. They then created their own news production. They shared their broadcast at the presentation.
4th Grade GT students studied the Levelland City of Mosaics, learning the architecture, art, and history around town. They then furthered their learning by going to GlassAlley and making their own mosaic in which they presented!
Congratulations, Capitol kids on all the learning this semester! Thank you Mrs. Utley and Mrs. Alexander for leading these learners to greatness!
